The police put Rosa ___ⓐ___ jail. But a friend came and posted a hundred-dollar bond for her to leave.
That night she met with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and other black leaders of the city.
"If the bus company won't treat us courteously," one leader said, "we won't spend our money ___ⓑ__ ride the buses. We'll walk!"
After the meeting they put out leaflets everywhere that said: "DON'T RIDE THE BUS TO WORK, TO TOWN, TO SCHOOL, OR ANYWHERE, MONDAY, DECEMBER 5."
On Monday morning, no one was riding the buses. There were many people on the street, but everyone was walking.
