  When Lewis and Clark made their way through what is now North Dakota in 1804, ① a Shoshone Indian woman named Sacajawea joined the team of explores. Because the expedition was traveling with ② a Native American, other tribes did not attack the group. In fact, one tribe even supplied hones to help the explores and ③ their interpreter cross the Rocky Mountains. ④ This invaluable team member taught the men how to find medicine and food in the wilderness. And she once even saved ⑤ one of the crew when a canoe overturned during a storm. Sacajawea reached the Pacific Ocean with Lewis and Clark in 1805.
